a) Say you are uncomfortable to hear someone talking about their partner like that.

b) Find a way to check in with the partner – ask how they are doing and assure them how much you have always liked them. You might even tell them that you find your family member’s behaviour unpleasant.

c) Note down things you are noticing and call a helpline, or read up online about what to do.
